Subject: Update on Saab
On Monday, December 19th, 2011, Saab Automobile AB of Sweden filed for bankruptcy. This is the parent company of Saab Cars North America (Saab Cars NA). Saab Cars NA is the distributor of Saabs to the dealers here in the US and Canada. They have hired an outside independent administrator to evaluate and/or liquidate as they may determine.
Delaware Saab is privately owned and independent from Saab Cars NA. Regardless of the future of Saab in the United States, we remain here to sell and service Saabs for a very long time. We are a very healthy company and are able to provide service and parts to our Saab clients and stand behind our work.
Saab NA has suspended warranty coverage on vehicles that were sold after the acquisition of the brand from General Motors in 2010. General Motors is, however, picking up warranty claims on vehicles purchased while General Motors owned Saab, basically 2009 models and earlier. We are unsure at this time what the suspension of warranty coverage on 2010 and newer models means but we are focusing on finding solutions for the issues caused by this suspension. At this time Saab NA is not paying warranty claims on 2010 and newer models. We now have arranged for outside warranty companies to provide coverage. If you would like to discuss availability of these warranties, please contact our Finance Department.
We will keep you informed as we get more information from Saab Cars NA. In the meantime, we are here to provide parts and service as your needs require. I appreciate your patience and we will all get through these problems together.

History:
Our Dealership was originally founded in 1916 as Delaware Motor Sales, and was first located on King Street in Wilmington on the property which was known as MBNA World Headquarters, and is now Bank of America. In 1939, the company moved to the existing location, at 1606 Pennsylvania Avenue. Originally, and until 1966, the dealership was the sole Cadillac distributorship for the entire Delmarva Peninsula. In 1982, the current ownership assumed control, and the dealership became known as Delaware Cadillac. Delaware Saab was added in 1998 with new Sales facilities added for Saab in 2000. Extensive remodeling of Delaware Cadillac, which increased showroom and service facilities by over 14,000 square feet, was undertaken in 2003. The new showcase Cadillac facility officially reopened in September of 2004. The momentum continued when Delaware Subaru was added in October of 2004; which became Stellar Performer Certified in December of 2006! Additionally, we added our Kia Franchise in early 2009! Today, our dealer group is known as AutoTeam Delaware!

Delaware Saab Service is located at our 1606 PENNSYLVANIA Ave.Building!
All of our Saab Service Technicians are all Factory Certified. They hold many ASE Certifications, and many of our technicians are Master Technicians.
Our Service Managers and Service and Parts Consultants are the best at accommodating your Servicing needs; schedule your next Service Appointment with a few clicks of your mouse!
We have our own Shuttle Service to get you to and from most local destinations during Service hours. Warranty permitting, we also offer access to Courtesy Rental vehicles for all of our Saab clients!

Parts:
Our Saab Parts Department keeps a large parts inventory for quick in-and-out service. We stock a huge selection of tires as well as accessories, including a range of genuine Saab Accessories.
